McLaren has a rich history in producing cars for the track so when the Woking based operation revealed they were making cars for the road you can imagine the excitement it caused. Fast forward to the release of the 570s and it certainly grabbed the supercar fraternity’s interest. The 570 was McLaren’s way to tempt people away from fellow mid-engine junior supercars manufacturers with its dramatic looks, fantastic chassis and the look at me road presence, McLaren started to make inroads into that sector of the market. The 7-speed automatic gearbox is sublime, handling all the ferocity the power plant throws at it. Out on the road the McLaren 570s is a very civilised beast whilst driving through town traffic but turn it loose on a winding country road it really comes into its own and you sense all the years of racing car knowledge have been put into McLaren road cars by the way they tame corners for fun and accelerate out of them at a great rate of knots.
